How to be considered ?

Very often when applying I find myself lying, lying because I’m actually not « passionate » about M&A, not about anything IB related. I just like the environment, projects and as everyone else in this bitch, money.

How do you come up as honest and not fake in your cover letter, without being another guy who doesn’t know what he wants and try IB as a yolo option?

I know what I want, I know IB, Finance and so on (from an external POV of course). What am I doing wrong? Am I being too confident in the cover letter?

I’m at a target, but only rejections so far.
