How to break into IB if you live in the country which is a back office?

Hey folks,

Here is my profile:
Bachelor in IT
Master in Economics
Non Target School

1 year as Analyst in M&A boutique at Ukraine
1.5 year as Data Analyst at Thomson Reuters in Poland where I was responsible for covering all M&A transactions in CIS region for Thomson Reuters Eikon
Almost a year at Refinitiv in Poland as Financial Modeling Associate where I create Excel models for client (valuations, data retrievals by using Eikon solutions). For the reference models are for IB clients as well.

So far I do not see any related jobs here in Poland and I speak English on my daily basis instead of local language. I know that IB area is tough to get into even if you live in a target country and have target school, but I wonder what could be the best shot for me to break back into IB somewhere in the western countries?

Do you speak Polish? If not, I guess it is hard to get a job there. Most M&A firms will work with local, Polish companies. There are some decent boutiques in Poland and you can work there. Big 4 is also considered to be one of the biggest players. You can get an off-cycle internship in DB/JPM/Rothschild etc and then some of the people are able to transfer to UK. You can also apply for a Master/MBA (in the UK), but that costs a lot.

The problem is that I am not an EU-citizen which means I need a visa sponsorship regardless I apply in Poland or in any other country in Europe. That is the reason I thought I can skip language , since i will not give me a lot of benefits if the companies just simply do not provide that sponsorship. I know for sure that Big 4 do not provide it and even state it on the job boards.

Regards, Ihor
