How to bring up what you want while networking?
So I’ve read a lot on how to network, but there isn’t much on what you say to get referrals or to get your resume to a recruiter or an interview. Any advice?

The final thing I do in a networking call is an "ask" - i.e. can you introduce me to someone else at the firm/do you think there is anyone it might be good for me to speak to? These allow them to lead this in a couple of different directions...
a) sure here's person x, talk to them;
b) well who do you want to speak to (usually my answer here is "someone who is involved in the recruiting process or who may be looking at my resume/someone in a group that you want to learn more about), this (answering your initial question) is how I would go from speaking to a banker to speaking to HR; or
c) no, I think you have your basis covered here
Found this to be pretty successful - you can always take this ask in a different direction - i.e. resume review/interview prep if this is a senior student/alum....
