How to describe my company?
I recently started a summer internship at a small, private real estate investment company and I was wondering if there is a better/more accurate way to describe the company.
Its business is focused on working as a "broker" for investors who act as a client in commercial real estate investments but need help with equity financing and rely on my company to locate and connect them with a joint venture to provide the needed equity to finance the deal.
The company was listed as a investment/merchant bank but was wondering if there was a better way to phrase it.
Also- if anyone has a good website/forum/podcast they'd recommend about CRE and learning more about the industry I'd appreciate it.
Sounds like JV Equity Placement.
I see, do you have any experience either dealing or working with people in JV Equity Placement?
I've never heard of it so want to figure out exit opps from here and the different career paths it can provide.
If you're asking for purposes of what to put on your resume, go with equity capital markets analyst.
It sounds like y'all are capital markets intermediaries, like an HFF or Eastdil, with a much narrower focus/capability.
Equity Brokerage
Your first sentence was wrong.
Small, Private Real Estate Investment Company.
Now using banker speak and what you actually do since your company doesn't invest in real estate.
Small = Boutique
so...voila
