How to do FT recruiting

Let's say I'll be at a mid tier BB this summer with a non-target school background. I'm interested in transitioning to an EB for FT as I want to be in the classic advisory role. How do I go about interviewing for EBs during my SA stint. I've also heard that people get FT offers from their interviews before the end of the SA stint.

How do I communicate to my network at these EBs that I'm interested in FT recruiting. During my SA recruiting I built up decent networks at the EBs I wanted to be at. I don't want to raise any flags by looking to jump ship before I even start at my bank, but at the same time I don't want to miss FT recruiting, which from what I heard is significantly more informal and sometimes banks wouldn't even post an opening, people just know people who want the process and put them through the interviews

Good start that you already have a network and are at a BB. FT recruiting can be tricky and is definitely informal. Best way to go about this is to reach out 3-4 weeks into your internship, remind them where you are interning and state you enjoy the role but are looking at a move for FT for [ insert reason ] and ask about FT process/timing. It should heat up around week 8 or so as the EBs firm up SA offers, with superdays usually week 10 of the internship or the week immediately after.

You also absolutely need a return offer at your SA, so make sure you are extremely discreet with recruiting and do a good job at your current place.
