The good thing about Germany is that they have off-cycle internships and you can apply pretty much througout the year.
Don't be fixated on BBs. There are some smaller shops in Frankfurt that are quite ok. Look at second tier banks also. You need to get some banking experience that would make you more marketable.
The other thing about Germany that I find ridiculous is its GPA-worship. So, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have an ok GPA. Take some intro corpfin/accounting classes so that you would be familiar with the basics such as
- the income statement/balance sheet/cash flow statement
- risk in finance (standard deviation of returns, beta, risk/return general equilibrium models, etc.)
- valuation basics
