How to land a junior summer sell-side ER internship?

I am interested in any advice anyone can give regarding the best way(s) to try and land a sell-side ER internship. I recently completed a summer analyst role at an asset management firm that does not give out FT offers. Is there any way I can leverage this experience to land an ER junior summer internship (2022) on the sell side? Any advice is welcomed, thanks!

okay so apart from everyone saying that it’s the same, there are actually a couple differences -

The networking strategy can be different. You NEED NEED NEED to have one, two, or three pitches that are well formulated to submit to your contacts when networking. It’s a great conversation starter and will go a long way. Your pitches will literally follow you from first contact to very last interview

Get deep on one or two sectors in order to display you can gain an abnormally strong handle on an area. It’s not about transactions like in IB, it’s all about recent news and drivers of equity share prices specifically

Don’t be afraid to reach out to a few MD’s specifically - but make sure you have a prior connection to the group before doing so

From there, it’s standard - network, get referrals, etc

Cannot stress how important a KILLER stock pitch is
