How to List Degrees and Minors on Resume
I'm going to graduate with two degrees and a minor, and I don't know how to state it clearly on my resume without it looking weird;
BS in Finance & BS in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, Minor in Mathematics.
The "Entrepreneurship and Small Business" is a track in the Management degree.
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated!
How to Include Double Major and Minor on Resume?
Adding your majors and minors on your resume may seem like an easy task, but having proper formatting to ensure that it looks both professional and easy on the eyes can be a challenge. For instance, having two majors and a minor can potentially take up more than one line, causing an unpleasant break in your resume. However, the community at WSO has formulated some suggestions!
User @StaphyBone", an asset management analyst, shared some recommendations on how to structure your resume:
College Name,
Bachelor of Science in Finance & Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, minoring in Mathematics.
or
College Name,
Bachelor of Science in Finance
Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management
Minor in Mathematics
While this is not the only format available for adding your majors and minors to your resume, it's a clean example on how to add them to your resume.
Another element to consider is if your degrees are from different schools within the university. You can see an example of this below.

Shouldn't be to big of a deal, just get your point across however you best like. I have dual degrees and I use the 1st example I gave, in effort to save space.
in the nicest way possible, no one cares about your double degree, just the field that it's in just write: Bsc in Finance and Math, forget about the other weird thing doesn't sound that important, and you don't want your resume to get too clunky
B.S. Finance and Entrepreneurship, Minor in Mathematics.
Two separate degrees and one minor: ABC University Bachelor of Science, Finance Bachelor of Science, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Minor in Mathematics
One degree (double major) and one minor: ABC University Bachelor of Science, Finance & Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Minor in Mathematics
(I'd right justify the city/state and date of the degrees on the first two lines of the entry)
In all honesty, unless you're in a school known for killer dual-degrees (i.e. double degree in Physics and Math from Caltech or something), no one cares about the difference between a double-degree and a double-major.
Also, "Entrepreneurship" and "Small Business Management" are practically the same thing. Seriously, just write "B.S. in Entrepreneurship" OR "B.S. in Business Management". The entire thing is overkill, even if it is the official title of the degree. I would just go for "B.S. in Management". If anyone asks, you can then mention that you were in a specialized track focusing on Entrepreneurship.
Also, no need to write out "Bachelor of Science" unless you really want to. Everyone knows what B.S. means.
Majors and Minors on resume (Originally Posted: 07/25/2013)
so I majored in poli sci, minored in economics and spanish. On my resume, I do not use the word "major" or "minor," tho I do differentiate "concentration GPA" vs overall GPA; I also have a lot of econ courses and filled up my relevant course section with them. In interviews I do not lie tho and say I majored in something I didn't, and if they ask I tell them the truth. My most recent job was a finance tho and I did pass a licensing test. Does a resume have to clearly differentiate between majors and minor?
Of course. You lied
Yeah but if you already got a job, it doesn't matter. Just clarify it on your resume prospectively.
Yes, it does. As warren1 already said, you lied.
I am not sure why this is an issue unless you have some enemies at HR which really want to get you fired.
Don't lie or try to spin things. It can do more harm than good. When it comes down to it, if you have meaningful work experience, then no one will give a fxck about your major and minor anyway.
but if its not "lying" technically, and I'm not lying technically, will it be viewed in the same light as full on lying?
No one wants to hear that crap. If you're not telling the truth and someone finds out, your credibility will take a hit. IMO, the fact that you're trying to find a way to snake your way around a simple issue like this says enough about you.
if you are questioning it, then it is prob wrong. Imagine what HR or your interviewer will think.
Mollitia laboriosam officiis aut non incidunt. Aperiam magnam ipsam pariatur quo eius delectus eum. Similique non itaque et magni. Rerum consequatur maiores quis sapiente animi veritatis et.
