How to make the best of a not very good College?

Hi guys,

I´m a rising sophomore at my local college in Europe. However, the College isn´t exactly what you call a "target" lol. This is due to the fact of me foolishly not caring for High School and therefore having bad grades. Thankfully, I have awaken now and have gotten good grades so far, but as already mentioned the teachings of the college probably won´t be enough to break into the higher spheres of finance. How can i increase the probability of me "making" it? Should i self teach relevant topics through Books, Online Courses etc..  Or should I try to network as best as possible to get somewhat good internships and to go from there by building my network?

I´m studying Business Administration by the way)

Thank you

I also go to a non-target college, so I understand what you mean. In my opinion, your relevant work experience and people skills will get you a lot further than the name of your school. You may have to start with less competitive internships and build up your resumé, but in the meantime expand your network and leave a lasting impact on people you speak with. We might not get the first, second, or third look from employers being from non-targets, but that doesn't mean the door is closed to us. We just have to put in some extra work.
