How to move from T2 to MBB
I am currently a first year about 9 months onto the job at a solid T2 (Strategy&/LEK/Kearney) and was wondering if it is possible to lateral to MBB at the end of the year. Does anyone know how that process works/if they even recruit people with 9 months experience/how to manage it without employer finding out? And if anyone has done this before if they have any tips?
thanks!
out of curiosity why?
Get a referral (if you can) and apply, but you can also get interviews if you apply cold from a T2. Quite a few people have made the jump this year and last.
not OP - but out of interest when is the best time to send a lateral application in? do they recruit year round? (I am incoming at a T2 but want to make the jump to MBB)
Thanks!
Where are you based? If in the UK, you'll have to apply through the normal uni recruitment in October if you don't have 2 years of work exp (you're only counted as an experienced hire and not an undergrad candidate once you reach the 2 yoe threshold)
Yup (if in US), you can apply year round and they tend to have rolling start dates.
Incoming T2 as well, how many months/years of experience should I have at my T2 before I apply? Or is this negligible.
Thanks!
