Basically, I didn't go to very many recruiting events sophomore year because I wasn't really sure I wanted to do IB. Now I'm a rising junior interning at a Global Fortune 100, but I'm kind of stuck with a mediocre/shitty GPA from a target (non-Ivy). Where do I start? How should I approach alumni?

In the same position. Currently interning at a HF, and am from a non-target. My future ambitions are to possibly break into a boutique or get into a BB. A good way to start, from what I've read & advice, is to start building a network. Make sure to have a LinkedIn profile, and keen it to make you the best candidate. Invest in some IB books -- these will be your best resource for breaking into IB -- and begin to follow markets and trends. Getting into IB from a non-target is all about your ambitions/story, and most importantly network.

Hey guys,
I'm currently trying to reach out to alumni to prepare for recruiting next fall for summer 2018. I'm pretty much just focused on IB but should I also reach out to other divisions such as investment management, S&T, etc? Or would it do no good if I solely want IB.
Probably one of my strongest connections is someone who isn't in the division but would he be able to help me when the time comes?
