How to offset low GPA to land in a BB SA in London?

Hi fellow monkeys, hope you are all well during this hectic period. Hope everything will be as normal soon.

I am a master student in a target European school, just planning on applying for 2021 SA in London.
Was just going through the threads, and found out that there might be a cutoff line for a GPA.

I was just wondering if I really have no chance to go through the screenings.

Here is my profile.

Target school
GMAT 760
2 European languages in full professional proficient level, other than English.
Former national level sport athlete (Even tho it's not even close to US NCAA level)
Leadership experiences at my first year of master (founded 2 student clubs)
6 months internship in a large TMT company (non-IBD related)
6 months internship in DCM at a respected MM bank. My director (who was previously a director in one of the BB) is willing to write me a recommendation letter.

Until here it all sounds alright, but my gpa is shit... it's only 2.8. (Undergrad GPA is much better, first class honours.)
My first year of master I had no idea that I would go for an IB, and now I'm taking the tolls from what I've done.

I believe that UK is a little less strict than in the US, but I think my grades are really shit...
Would there be any chance to offset the terrible grades?
Or should I just network with MDs cuz I'd have no chance to go through the screening?

I know it's hard time for all of us here now, would be nice if you can spare some of your insights!
