How to pop the question?
Hello monkeys,
With recruiting season coming up soon I want to get in the application pool early-mainly because, given my non-target background, 3.3 gpa and 3 internship (non finance, 1 in tax and 1 in accounting), I don't stand much of a chance against the swarm of ivys that are going to be applying for summer internships next summer.
I've been networking intensely this summer (and still sending out emails as I write this) I have come in contact with a few MDs in big banks who were very willing to help. So here's my question, how do I bring up the fact that I want a shot at the summer internship? I know the ideal situation is for them to ask (and that has happened a couple of times) but for the rest, nothing yet. So what should I say to them? Do I go with the old "I was wondering if you can tell me how I could best position myself for an interview with your firm?". Any suggestions?
Thanks
