How to prepare for Capital Markets interviews sa 2015?
Hey I have some capital markets interviews coming up and was wondering how I can study all current events and micro/macro trends. I know that many technical questions will overlap with those of banking, but am unsure of how else to prep.
Thanks in advance!
Just have a general understanding of what is going on globally on a broad scale. Know about:
1) What's going with Oil (OPEC) 2) Swiss Franc 3) U.S. economy and where it's headed 4) China's economic transition 5) EU QE
Etc...
Capital Market interviews are much less structured than typical coverage IBD. It is going to be more behavioral and your interviewer is simply going to want an educated opinion from you about the markets. Just focus on large global developments by reading WSJ, Bloomberg, Reuters, etc. and become an expert.
Thanks i'll definitely do all these things to prepare.

Hi Everyone,
I have a 1st round summer analyst interview with the Capital Markets Group at a BB, and was just wondering if anyone can provide some info regarding what sorts of questions the interview may entail and what technical knowledge I should prepare myself for? Thanks for the help!

General capital markets or do you have a sense of group? Speaking generally, know why capital markets (e.g. market oriented, fast paced), know where indices are, treasuries, LIBOR, fed funds rate, have an idea of trends in the market. If on debt understand relavent ratios and debt structure (seniority), understand covenants.

Hi, I just got an email from a BB regarding my application to a spring internship in capital markets (college 1st year). I'm invited to attend a telephone interview.
What do you think can I expect to be asked? any advice? remember it is a spring insight programme, no summer internship, so probably less technical questions, but maybe some
thanks a lot!
It will be some fit, but mostly tell us about yourself, why cap markets, why us, what are your goals, etc. Generally like a screener so should only last 20 minutes or so.
Typical 1st round type interview. Why Finance, why capital markets, why that bank, what would you expect to do, time you succeeded/failed, etc.
