I'm trying to get an idea of what's a good way to structure a deal sheet on my CV and how is it best to include it. My background is DCM.
Should I add it as an appendix to my CV, where on the cover I just give a brief overview of what kind of work I've done at a given role (without going into specifics of projects) and then on the deal sheet explain in more detail?
On the deal sheet itself, I've got a few questions:
1) Names of transactions/clients: obviously anything that has not closed/been made public I wouldn't name but what about transactions that have been made public? Is it preferred to say specific client names or keep it more general (i.e "leading investor in ...... space")
2) Deals that are still ongoing: is it ok to mention these on a very high level basis without giving anything specific away?
3) Deals that didn't end up succeeding, specifically ones where we were part of a bidding consortium and another bidder was selected. Is it a good idea to include these or better to just leave out?
4) Deal size: important to mention this? (as it's DCM then I guess the metric would be capital raised) I haven't worked on mega deals, more mid market stuff so I don't have any numbers that would blow someone away.
5) On the structure itself, I was thinking of going with a table format, with the headers reading:
- Project (short description of what was going on)
- Client (not sure if needed?)
- Responsibilities (describe in a few keywords what I have done on the project)
Comments, recommendations?
