How to talk about deal experience during interviews?

Can someone shed some light on how to talk about deal experience or the work you have done as an analyst during a interview? Does anyone have a structure that works well for them? I see that there's a lot of post on how to write about transaction experience in resume, and obviously I don't want to just read what's on my resume. How would you talk about a M&A transaction differently from a capital market transaction?

Generally speaking I use the below talking points as a guideline and modify based on deal specifics - high level overview - industry, product/service, size of deal, any other relevant deal info - your role & achievements - try to show that you can be flexible and take on different roles, i.e. pitch, comps, diligence, modeling, CIM - what you learned & any takeaways - what you've improved on, what you like doing, what you'd like to continue doing in next role

I'd aim for around 2-3 minutes. Keep it relatively high level (i.e. simple to understand language but specific enough to show your knowledge). Would recommend focusing more on the analysis/conclusions drawn from the data you analyzed.

Example: Valued the company by using DCF and precedent comps. Considered X impact to the company. Discovered that the company is undervalued for the following reasons. As a result, proposed Y solution, which led to Z cost savings.

Chances are, the senior folks will care less about the numbers and more about your understanding and the rationale. If your interviewer wants to know more about the financials, they'll def ask and you can provide the specifics then.
