How to transition from patent law to Investment Banking?

I am a senior associate at a law firm practicing patent law (primarily drafting patent applications now), and I was wondering how to make a transition to I-banking. (In case it is relevant, I have an undergrad degree in electrical engineering.)

Would I need to go get an MBA? Are there any I-banks that view a patent law background favorably? Also, I am 30 right now. If I were to get an MBA, I'd probably be 33 or 34 by the time I graduate.
