How to work CRE debt in London for a year then move back internally to US?

Have 3 years of CRE underwriting experience at a top lender. Trying to land a job at a US company in London for a year, and then transfer back internally to the US; Has anyone heard of anyone doing that or think it could be done? Target companies would be CBRE, JLL, C&W etc.

I have also wondered how to pull off this same thing, but CRE doesn't seem as strong abroad as it does in the US. That's just my perception of the lack of jobs available, even in major financial centers like London and even at companies like CBRE, JLL, etc. Correct me if you've seen anything showing otherwise.

I went through this same process. All the major brokerages will not send you out there or sponsor your visa unless your very senior.

HFF has two younger American guys but their hybrid-producer types and were hand chosen by senior management.

Eastdil has 3 Americans I believe but again, they were sent out to help build out the business abroad.

I had a flair for languages. But I soon discovered that what talks best is dollars, dinars, drachmas, rubles, rupees and pounds fucking sterling.

I think unless it is with your current company it is near impossible (IE, express interest in moving abroad to your team and they try and make it happen). Too many risks moving abroad to a completely different culture, etc.
