How would you handle this situation?

So today my boss' boss (Director) and a guy a level above me got into it...badly. Like shouting at each other in the bullpen area, naughty words, personal attacks, etc. and it made shit insanely awkward the rest of the day (like dad hit mom at the dinner table awkward.)

Is there anything you can do in this situation other than lay low and hope for the best?
It really ruined my Wednesday and I'm not sure tomorrow will be much better.

Any ideas?

uhh that's not awkward that's a fucking shame and i'd probably punch my dad in the face if he did that.

Cool story tough guy, it was a figure of speech.

I get that I should ignore it short term but this doesn't really seem to be something that will just 'pass' in the next couple of days.

I should just take the rest of the week off and say fuck it.

Did their boss witness any of this? If so, that should help. At least one, if not both, of them should be expecting a swift kick to the nuts, assuming the boss has any idea of what they are doing. That kind of thing shouldn't happen.

What were they arguing about?

I have no idea which makes it all the more uncomfortable.

Just pretend you were dropping a deuce while it happened and you never saw a thing. Usually, when people get that pissed off, they have tunnel vision and don't remember anything except how they wanted to kill the other person.

Please don't! Never escape! S**t like this happens all the time. Don't be over sensitive to it. Do what you are supposed to do, don't feel bad for others. Time will heal them soon.

Ignore it. Work your ass off and keep your head down. Minimize your conversation with both parties until things blow over -- at least for the next few days unless it's business related.

I would stick around and watch but absolutely do not get involved or say anything. I have been witness to a few classic trading desk blow-ups and especially if your a junior person your choices are stay and watch or just get up and walk away (probably smarter but I enjoy drama too much to do this). If you are more senior your job is to tell them both to STFU.

Too low ball for me. Btw, anybody know why they deleted my latest thread this morning? I don't think I violated anything. RIP my fabulous post
