HR Employment Process-Normal or Not?

Hello all. I recently went in to meet with HR for a drug test, fingerprinting, and to sign some documents. At this particular BB, it seems that HR was outsourced entirely, and that in one of the forms I signed there was a clause that stated something to the effect of "I agree that (BB Bank) is not employer and I am not entitled to any benefits." Then when later completing some electronic documentation through this same HR/consulting/employment agency, there was another clause which said "I understand that (HR/consulting firm) is my employer." And then there was something else that effectively said that the BB I'd be working for is their "client." Is this typical for most BBs? Will this have any material effect on my hourly wage? This just seems so strange to me, and was curious if this was some weird process specific to my BB.
