God, I hate Hublots.

Regardless, if you like it then just get it. It's not up to us to tell you whether you should spend $10,000 on that ugly thing or whether it's flashy.

It really depends on who is looking, I appreciate a nice watch on someone because I'm an avid watch connoisseur. Someone like @"Slash-Finance" might perceive it differently.

Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 Chronograph, great for the price

Have had a Rolex Explorer II white dial and Rolex Sub Hulk which I was lending from friends. Basically paid them like a rental.

Shopping for an IWC Portuguese Automatic Chronograph now. I have two friends that are major gray market dealers so trying to get one for under $4500, which is basically like 60% off. If I can't get one by late Fall I might just go for a nodate Sub

I'm with yeahright on this one. If you like the watch, go ahead and get it. Its your money, so spend it how you want.

That said, I think it is a gaudy watch and it really does draw unnecessary attention, particularly as a first year analyst. If you want to drop 10k on a watch for the sake of wearing an expensive watch, find something that draws less attention to the fact that your wearing an expensive watch. You really don't know who you are going to meet/work with and they make take offense to the fact that you are wearing a Hublot as a 1st year analyst and think you're a spoiled kid whose daddy got him the job or they may be a watch collector and be impressed by it. It's a tradeoff that you need to decide about - how do you want to be perceived wearing that watch. Personally, I don't care, but then again, your colleagues may think your a jerk for it. That's my two cents.

Personally: that watch is tacky as shit. Tag Heuer Aquaracer FTW. But if you really like the watch, get it and rock the look. Confidence over style.

Personally, that watch looks really tacky and is way overpriced. It's totally your call though, worst case scenario is that you get some shit for it at work and if it gets too bad then you don't wear it to the office, or you sell it and buy something more conservative. I don't see how you can cause major damage by wearing a watch that some people might not find appealing.

This perfectly sums up my opinion on Hublot. They're gaudy, overpriced and derive all of their value from the fact that they cost too much. In the same way that Paris Hilton is "famous for being famous", Hublot watches are "expensive because they're expensive"

This is true. In the R&B world (music industry in general) it's ok. If you're a label owner, fine. If you're an analyst, I would move towards a Baume & Mercier, Tag Aquaracer, Omega Speedmaster Chrono.
