Humiliate my Resume
I am sending my resume to an IB analyst today that I talked on the phone with. I completely overhauled it, since it was major trash before (maybe still is). So please do not hold back and let me know what you think.
Also what is the general opinion on professional summary? Recruiters seem to recommend it, but not sure if it is necessary.
Here is the link: Removed since I sent the document
Thanks, I appreciate the help, criticism and comments coming up!
Few quick changes that need to be addressed first. 1. Change to Microsoft word and expand margins (and eventually save as pdf). 2. Definitely use a font such as Times New Roman. 3. Be careful with periods at end of bullets. Be consistent and have it be an all or nothing deal. 4. Noticed one of the bullets still had present tense for a completed internship. Should be past.
Side note: personally I’m not a big fan of a professional summary, I think it makes more sense to have those aspects outlined in a cover letter when you eventually apply. I think you should stick with just your experience on the resume. Again, only just my opinion so
Thank you for taking time and looking through it, that's some good advice.
lost my appetite to roast your resume since you've passed the SIE and a few of my first years failed their first go round.
2 pages... bruh

... bruh
Lol yeah, should probably kick that one out. But idk how to get it down to 1 page. I have a little more experience due to being a few years older than typical graduate. Should I delete some of the unrelevant experiences?

use the WSO format you're literally here
I looked at it prior to putting it together but thought changing it up a little bit will help me differentiate myself? If someone goes through a pile of resumes, they might take a second more to read it, if it does not look the same as the last 25.
No. If I cant find what I am looking for fast I may just skip it. Going through CVs is time consuming, make things easy and you will get more attention.
You’re saving them time. You’re making it easy for them to find the information they care for (because they know exactly where to find what they want on the standard format). Make their lives easier, and you will have a better shot.
I can see that you’re trying to remain anonymous with your resumé, but you probably should’ve remembered to anonymize your LinkedIn profile Warren. This lack of attention to detail is going to cost you an interview if you’re trying to switch your career this late in the game
You NEED to get it down to 1 page. The only people who should have multi-page resumes are people with years of professional, relevant, full-time experience. You are an undergrad. Your resume will be immediately thrown away just by the simple fact that it's two pages.
Some of the bullet points have an extra word that makes the bullet point take 2 lines. You need to cut these down. Either one line, or if it's a longer sentence, two lines but only for those sentences which will fill up most of the two lines. Make sense?
Also I would delete the professional summary and most of your activities before 2016. They are irrelevant, and at this point not really representative of your current skillset anyway.
Got it, I was able to bring down those lines to 1 and used 2016 as the cutoff year, since I started University that year and what I did before was not really finance related.
I would start by adding the month/year you are graduating
Should be 3.93/4.00, not 4.0. As a job that involves a lot of math/decimals, this needs to be correct.
Also should probably let you know that you are not anonymous in that document. You may want to do something about that
Thank you for that. I figured that google docs would not be the best option and that my editing has taken away the anonymity, but I wanted to keep it as close to the real one as possible, so I could get the best advice.
lol this does not matter at all
