HY/Distressed Credit Trading - Top Firms?
Do you guys know which banks have the best desks for distressed debt/special sits/HY? If so, what is the best way for someone at a target to get a job/internship at those places? I currently only know of JPM who does this so interested in hearing more opinions,
The following link has ranking of the biggest **bookrunners ** for HY in US and Europe - https://www.globalcapital.com/corporate-bonds/data/league-tables
I highlighted bookrunners because whilst it is not directly related to trading, I do think it can serve as a proxy for each of the listed banks prowess in the HY trading.
Thank you! Just for other people viewing this thread: it seems like the current biggest players are JP, Citi, BAML, Barclays, and GS in pretty much all categories.
I'd caution you that much of the lev fin market is actually loans nowadays. Those bond league tables are misleading, as they leave out a couple of the biggest players in lev fin: CS and Jefferies.
Those two are much more involved in the lower-end of the market (smaller companies; higher leverage).
But you probably cant go wrong with any of them.
