I usually have difficulty with this, it varies based on ethnicity, firm etc. One trick I'd use is go to verify-email.org, and test out a few various combinations. It should help.
I have found that it is case by case. Keep trying until you get it. Try one at a time and worst case scenario, it bounces back to your inbox and you try again.
I did a search, didn't turn up much helpful information.
Anybody know how GS treats hyphenated last names in their email addresses? I'd like to get in touch with an alum who I had a class with. Let's say his name is Eric Smith-Murphy, would it appear as [email protected] or [email protected]? Or some other variation?
I gave it a few tries (hyphenated) and received an email failure notice for every attempt pretty quickly afterwards that said message undeliverable, bounced by administrator. Any ideas how to get around this? Or could it be possible that means he doesn't work there anymore so the email address doesn't exist?

First Name . Last name @ Company name.com
First Name.Middle Initial.Last Name@ Company name. com
That is basically how it works.
That wasn't his question.
