I applied . . . now what?
So I am bit taken back in my pretty thorough search from this site, I couldn't find a thread specifically discussing what things you do post-applying that can enhance your chances. I mean unless this is some "secret sauce" confidential stuff that you arent willing to share, I have not found too much info on it which I find interesting.
Basically we all know applying to the black boxes on most of these career sites means your resume will not even be looked it, and if it is looked at its only the cream of the crop that get further passed along. Networking works BEFORE the application but what are the strategies after you apply that may boost your chances?
I have messaged a few people on LinkedIn, or emailed them, from the team/ area that the position is in, although I have not had too much luck with that. I have also tried calling HR a few times who couldn't provide too much info except to confirm they received my application.
Does anyone have any tips/tricks they are willing to share or should I just stick to networking before the application?
Thanks
