I dont think this has anything to do with you.

To gsmsml, I wouldnt say that all ibankers are like that, but there is definitely a higher proportion of money loving backstabbers in banking than there are in say medicine or advertising.

But like how bad is it? Is it like the situation where everyone you hang out with you have to be on your guard because you do not know what their intentions and do you feel that people are always trying to one up you, or is this more of the minority.

I worked in residential real estate as an agent, and some of the things i saw people do to their coworkers and "friends" would make you sick. I actually compare RE sales alot to IB.

You have to understand in RE sales these are generally people with little to no education, zero morals, and in an industry where the only way to get ahead is by stepping on someone else. This has MORE than prepared me for IB and life in general.

IB can't be as bad as some industries as most IB people are educated and intelligent human beings.

That's why estate agents are lumped along with the tax man in that group of people that everybody loves to hate. Seriously there is nothing worse than some snooty bitch giving you attitude when she could never afford the places she is showing you.
