I-banking interview
I will be a senior at a small private university in the midwest this fall. My school has a good academic reputation in our state, and is known relatively well by people in the midwest (attracts many students from St. Louis and Chicago) but is by no means a target school.
I am a finance major with a 3.4 GPA (it will definitely be higher by the time I graduate--thanks to easier electives as a senior--but 3.4 is what will be on my resumes in the fall) and have done two internships: one in the corporate lending department of a commercial bank and am currently doing an internship with a financial advisor. Also, I served in a leadership position in my fraternity for a total of 1.5 years, played a club sport for my school during my freshman year, and also will be interviewing for a part-time fall internship with a venture capital firm. I feel comfortable with my ability to do well in interviews, but I have to actually get interviews first.
My question is: will this GPA/work experience differentiate me from others or will my resume just be another piece of paper in a huge stack on the floor that doesn't get any attention?
