I don't have the ideal start to my career, how can I rebound and get a consulting gig?
Hi All - First post. I don't come from a target school. I don't even come from a well know school, just a small private university. I've spent the first two years of my career at a market research firm and to be honest I don't feel like I've done anything noteworthy. My day to day is quite easy and I usually impress my bosses with minimal effort. I'm not trying to brag because the point I'm trying to make is I started caring a bit too late into my education and I think it is coming back to bite me as I don't feel that fulfilled in my work. Does someone like me who comes from a no-name school and not the most prestigious company really have a shot? I was a member of an intense student consulting program which I think still provides me my edge to this day and my clients at work are all buy-side analysts or PM's so I think I have somewhat of an exposure to both finance and consulting and I was hoping to try and leverage these into a new career combined with school which seems more and more inevitable. Any advice would be appreciated!
