I got a new job and feeling like shit
I recently started a new job which is a step up from my old bank. People are nice. Good work. I thought I wanted to stay in banking and that this is what I like. I do enjoy the work mostly and want to learn. Yet, I feel that I am so irritable and restless. I am not happy and I don’t know what to do about that. I tried going to non banking jobs but I didn’t like it. How do I shake this feeling
Honestly man, it might just be burnout. If you are genuinely feeling restless enough to the point where you are considering leaving your job, I’d talk to your Associate and / or staffer and address this immediately. There’s nothing wrong with asking for some time off and you’ll be respected for it.
Also, if you are like most banks new hires will be starting soon and then some things can roll off of your plate hopefully.
I just started. Like weeks ago. Im in no position to do this
Do something you love, and you'll never "work" a day in your life. I suppose the questions are, do you feel unhappy about being an analyst and the tasks related to that position? Do you think the job (banking) will be more fulfilling as you make your way through the ranks? We take jobs knowing that it will lead to something better and there are rewards available to us if we put in the grunt work now. It may be a case of just getting through the next couple years. Time will fly. Trust me.
And what happens if you don’t “love” anything or anyone?
I want you to do us a favor if this is how you truly feel. Depending on the firm you work for, your benefits may offer free counseling. There are online services like TalkSpace or others that may be offered with your plan. Even if you don't have a free service available, it's important to speak to someone in a confidential environment that can work with you on the issues you're experiencing. This should be top priority if you really do feel like you don't love anything or anyone.
Each year of work = `10,000 hours minimum (261 working days x 8, rounding down)
10,000 hours of hating your life (highly conservative)
This time of your life will never come back, it's gone. Gone, poof. All you have to remember is hating it. It's not worth it, leave ASAP. There is no requirement to work three years. Life is too short.
How the fuck did you get 10,000? There aren’t even 10,000 hours in an entire year.
While your point probably still stands that number is very off
I agree with your point completely but bro how tf did you get 10,000 hours lmao. You even gave us the numbers you multiplied and its not even close
Pls fix
