I got rejected from NWM and now I’m going into IB

Fun fact about me: I actually got denied from a Northwestern Mutual internship.Instead I went to a billion dollar asset manager for the summer through a contact I networked with, and I'll be going into IB next year. I remember grasping at straws became I came from a non target until I found my foothold.

My advice? If it's sophomore year, it's better doing anything then NWM. Seriously. Hell do FP&A for an insurance company. Junior year? If you want to do PWM go to JP Morgan or Morgan Stanley or some shit, otherwise just do FP&A. Seriously, I can't believe I was sad I didn't get it. If I did I don't think I'd be here, and I can't believe my friends didn't warn me about it.

Don't give up, no matter what! If you're rejected from a small firm (or NWM) who knows Aberdeen might be around the corner and you might not even know it.

P.S. I cheated the system during the whole "60 names" thing by going on Facebook and finding random peoples names and emails. Like hell am I selling your shitty insurance policies to my friends
