I guess I've been unbanned! [dr mark klein]

What I could do is rub it in Patrick's face that I won the vote and continue to be a huge prick. Which I will, to some extent. But for once I'm gonna make some concessions:

  1. Some people have been talking about how I like to "give it to you straight." Most of the time, this is true, but occasionally I will exaggerate like crazy just to incite violent reactions. From now on, I'll try to stick closer to the truth, or at least admit when something is just hearsay.

Note: This is not to say that I will be polite, compassionate, or even normal from now on. I have a legacy to uphold that dates back to "mrs zala" at the vault investment banking forums.

  1. What's the policy on swear words here? I've heard that big companies can use software that scans a website for the %age of pages that contain swear words or something. Then, if the %age is too high, they ban their employees from visiting that page while at work.

Is this the reason you're so against homophobic slurs, Patrick? Or are you sensitive about your own gayness? The reason I'm on the fence is that cursing seems to have gotten more and more common, so I don't know if that sort of moderation has gone out the window. I could try to use fewer swear words, but if you're concerned about this I suggest getting your own filter that censors posts as they're being executed.

I think he shouldn't be banned as long as its close like +- 3-4%. I mean c'mon its a public forum why ban him- he make some good contributions

So what do you do? -I work for an investment banking firm. Oh okay; you are like my brother, he works for Edward Jones. -No, a college degree is required in my profession

Reality hits you hard, bro...

Pretty sure I'd rather read his rants and posts no matter how offensive anyday over another post about non-targets, exit opps, and which group is the most prestigious

Don't know if I speak for others... but for those on the board that are pretty content with their jobs and not looking for advice anymore, the primary incentive for staying active on these boards are the bits of entertainment like Jimbo's piece on crazy bets on the trade floor.

Dr. Mark Klein MD,

  1. I appreciate the "concessions", unfortunately, for an immature homophobe like yourself the welcome will probably be shortlived since you can't control your racist and adolescent tendencies.

  2. There is no strict policy on swear words. Yes, I could get a auto-moderator module for swear words installed but there are other much more important initiatives for the site right now. Where appropriate swear words can be used quite effectively to drive your point home. Used liberally, they just deteriorate from the quality of discussion and show what a prick you are.

coverthis, you're not going to get banned for saying "you love this guy"...trust me, you're not living on the edge, you rebel you. (notice 50% of the users like him?) and how is this your 5th username? it think like 5 users in the history of WSO have been banned over a 3yr period.

Klein MD, in terms of your comment on homophobic slurs, you are welcome to try and see what will get you banned or not, but just know that next time there are any racist or homophobic slurs i'll ban your IP and you won't be able to create another account, no questions asked, no polls.

...other than that, happy commenting.

-Patrick
