IB and BIWS/WSP guidance
Hi Fellow Monkeys,
This is my first post and as such would like to get your take on what should be the best strategy for me.
Background: Aerospace engineer with 4 years of WE, will be starting MBA from an M7 school this fall. I am doing MBA to completely change my industry/function. I intend to specialize in finance with focus on investment banking . My long term goal is to transition into PE.
My questions are follows:
-
I have both WSP(premium) and BIWS (platinum) courses. Any particular order I should follow for these?
-
I do plan to go banking or real estate sectors in due course (still have not decided on it, yet!). Any value in going for certifications in argus or any other softwares used in these sectors? Are the industry specific courses of WSP/BIWS sufficient to convey better during internship and full time job interviews?
-
Any other guidance /tips?
Thanks.
Watch and study them?
I'm not sure about WSP, but I know BIWS has multiple different "tracks" to follow based on your timeline and goals. I think it's a PDF somewhere in the files. It basically is him selecting which modules are the best and most relevant based on the aforementioned timeline and end goal.
I have used both programs. BIWS for Excel & Powerpoint. WSP for Financial Modeling. Based on my experience, I would choose BIWS over WSP. 1: Brian is a better speaker. 2: BIWS models are better quality. 3: BIWS explanations are more clear and intuitive. 4: Reference files and additional content is clean and easy to digest.
I agree, BIWS has been great for me (sorry about the monkey shit - mistake and I don't know how to take it back)
