IB Application --> S&T Interview Offer. What happened? Should I go for it knowing nothing at all about S&T?
Hi Monkeys,
I am a Junior at a non-target. I recently sent in an IB SA app and got a interview offer for S&T instead. Anyone know what the reason behind this might be?
For instance, did my app get passed off to the S&T team? Should I ask the recruiter or is this a pretty standard practice that doesn't merit an email? It's never happened to me before - either interview or no response.
In any case, I had never considered S&T before. What's the lateral transition prospect?
Regards,
Hey SkoHawks, sorry about the delay, but are any of these useful:

I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
Haven't heard of this before. I would contact HR and ask for clarification. In case this is intentional, don't sound like S&T is a no no. Unless, obviously, it is a no no for you
Thanks for the insight. I am open to S&T, but obviously IB is the goal. My only concern would be that clarification email may screw my chance at both by coming off as "picky" or non-committal to S&T (which I interview for today), or do you think it's not a big deal?
is this JPM?
No, but comparable BB
This happened to me too with MS
Hi, thanks for sharing. What did you do in that situation? I see that you're in IB currently.
All my preparation was IB based, so instead of waisting the interviewer’s time, I informed HR of the mixup and they told me they would get back to me. Never did. If you have any interest in S&T, go for it. It’s still a a great opportunity
