Justine Tobin. No explanation needed.
Best 5 bankers alive: Tobin, Tobin, Tobin, Tobin, and Tobin.

This is not what I joined Tobin & Co. to be doing, to be a sugar-cookie-getter.
FUCK MICHEAL MILKEN
Wow, what a rabbit hole of research she led to...
Tidjane Thiam
The only BB CEO of color out there, a homie for sure. #BestEuroBB #BlackBank
Why so many dislikes? Is this.... RACISM?
Yes.
Yeah it was racism but the comment was straight clown.
Dude ran CS as an unprofitable bank and was never an Ibanker. Get a clue dude
My guy this ain’t Twitter this is Wall Street
The only people in banking I look up to are my analyst during my internship who covered for me to go to intern events and get drunk underage and my MD who bought me some dip.
Felix Rohatyn built Lazard. Perhaps Moelis and/or Frank Quattrone.
It's funny you mention Rohatyn considering he passed away a few days ago. The guy was a legend.
Who has made the most bank?
Vernon Jordan, Joseph Perella, Bruce Wasserstein, Robert Greenhill, Eric Gleacher to name a few (in no particular order). Any of the Weinbergs as well, really.
Vernon Jordan? He’s just a Washington fixer. He doesn’t do banking beyond putting paychecks into his personal accounts.
Fixer he may be, but having served on 10+ boards of some of the biggest companies, he's incredibly well connected and that has landed many deals for Lazard over the last 20 years. He's just as much of a business fixer as a political fixer.
Hall of famers once they retire: Paul Taubman, Michael Klein, Ken Moelis
Mind blown on the Michael Klein reference. I worked with him directly and frequently back in the day. He was big time then, but I haven’t kept up and had no idea what he’s been up to. It was a major deal when he left Citi as he was viewed by many senior people as the future CEO of the whole bank.
Why would your mind be blown?
Sage Kelly.
Seriously. If you haven't wife swapped to win client business don't go around calling yourself a Hall of Famer.
Milken
he really be milken those companies for profit
Johnathan Sidwell
This deserves all the bananas
I see you're a man of the culture
Michael Milkin. The LBO kingpin.
Frank Quattrone for tech
Who gives a shit. We're bankers, no one should look up to us.
Only nerds look up to sell-side employees
And no one worries about interns’ opinions, intern
LLOYD BLANKFEIN
Chris Flowers
Milken, sage
yall wack AF
I’d say Wallstreet Mount Rushmore you put: JP Morgan, Sidney Weinberg (man who built Goldman Sachs), Milken, Steve Schwartzman (since he’ll probably donate the money to build it).
Honorable Mentions: Felix Rohatyn (for building Lazard), Quattrone, Dimon, and Martin Lipton (because who doesn’t love a “shareholders rights plan”).
You guys need to read some history books.
Marty Lipton and Joseph Flom invented what we now call M&A and we're instrumental in makinh investment banking into what it Is today.
assuming Milken is DQ'd... Wasserstein, Herb Allen, Felix Rohatyn, and I'm going to through Paul Taubman on here but until he finishes out his career it should prob be Altman
Don’t have an SB to give but almost forgot about Herb Allen. Def an honorable mention
well that was kind of his point ;)
Guys, I cannot believe this man hasn't been mentioned yet. Please include the future billionaire Steve McLaughlin. This man has built a juggernaut of a company since 2002 that has done several multi-billion deals. I mean how crazy is that? Other MDs literally fawn over how he can make so much money from his deals and they wish they could be as successful as him. I have several friends who have left at FT and they have told me that whenever they say they used to work at FT, they will ALWAYS hear from senior members: "OH, Steve's firm?!" Yeah, it's something to respect. I mean the guy was on Bloomberg by himself. Which MD has done that talking about his own firm? Tell me! This is an impartial post btw
When someone says “this is in impartial post” you have every reason not to believe so.
Fairly gratuitous, but all happens to be true. Check around.
This post gave me cancer it was so bootlicking
Good. Cancer is good for you.
Bill Tsai
You mean the guy who dumped his entire career into the ocean in exchange for $100k?
Let’s all be honest that we should put Joshua Rosenbaum with his book that initiated some careers.
are we forgetting about my man joshua pearl?
Lewis Raneiri
Who's made the most bank in modern times?
Ridiculous thread ... surprised no real consensus here. Kind of shows that most people on this board do not know banking very well, which discredits most of the garbage on the site.
