IB Internship Virtual and Delayed Start: How will it impact full time offers?

Many BBs are considering a delayed start to their internship program. How is this going to impact FT offers? Isn't the whole point that you have time to learn on the job and get to know people. If the internship is delayed back a month (JPM) then you only have 6 weeks (potentially 5 with training) to get to know people. Corona really killin the vibe...

For internships with 3 rotations, expect 1 to get cut. Otherwise business as usual

Could see that happening but would not be pushed too far back. a lot of people have to back to school for various reasons or even return home to their families (possibly even internationally)

Don't kid yourself about how there is less time to make an impression. I've done three internships at BB banks and I will tell you that the manager that oversees the interns makes up his/her mind by the end of the first week. There are hardly any surprises about who gets the job and who doesn't- its extremely obvious and you will know after the first review.

Not necessarily true. Have seen situations where an intern underperforms for the first couple weeks, is told he has to shape up then works hard enough to secure the offer at the end.

Lmao after the first week just isn’t true. Maybe after the first half of the internship

Can any analysts already in the industry give their perspectives on this? Since from what I’ve see the majority of banks have 70+% offer rates, yet most banks expanded their classes after last summer which might change things.
