Hi Monkeys,

I know some of you guys probably went the "models and bottles approach" with your SA gig, but my only bottles were Pepsi and now I have a decent amount saved from the summer.....what do I do with it - how should I invest it to help my future? (~$11k)

Seriously though, most people save/invest it to help with the move. Keep it for expenses throughout the semester, etc.

This ^- great advice

Clearly you're sensible with your money to have saved so much OP, so assuming you got a return offer/FT offer, save at least half to help with rent, moving expenses, etc..

I'm taking a few thousand and traveling with it before next summer/using the rest for petty cash during the school year so I don't have to work and can enjoy senior year fully.

Sure, if you don't do your research, you'll lose your money -- but that's the case with most asset classes. Please don't discourage someone from getting in on the ground floor of something that will disrupt a tremendous amount of industries and processes.

OP: throw in a few thousand into Ethereum and some ICO tokens (but only if you have conviction in the ICO's premise/offering since they are at the end of the day ... simply a group of 5-10 people with a 20-30 page white paper).

Hopefully you earned enough to not have to work for your entire senior year in which case - enjoy

Haha now that you mention it, the amount is suspicious. Apparently washing dishes + "other stuff" is a SA gig then, eh?

That's where I put my money and made great gains, you know that green candle that went way up? Oh yeah that one made me some money.

Nope sorry

Spend it going out, buying your friends drinks and a great spring break. Fly some girl you met to visit you for a weekend. Use this money as your last horrah.

Save $1,500 or something to put down for your security deposit when you move to the city, but otherwise plan to have spent the entire amount.

If you're 21 - plan a Vegas NYE party for 1,500 with some friends.

You've never been to Vegas, have you...

$1500 is one, two bottles TOPS.

Aug 25, 2017

why would you try to get a bottle on nye in Vegas, you're paying huge mark up and no server is gonna waste their time on 4 college dudes sucking on a bottle. Get hammered on the strip and find some specials at the clubs.

$1500 will still go faster on NYE in Vegas than nearly any other place on Earth. I say get you and your friends hammered in your college town for $200 and find some specials in the freshman dorms.

24 oz Tall Boys were like $6 at the convenience store on the strip and you can buy and mix your own liquor there too (rum and coke). Walk and get hammered on the way to a casino, pound your drinks on the casino floor and head up to the club level and later score a free limo to see some single mothers.
