IB semi-target GPA
Finance major in second-year at a semi-target. I started off freshman year as a data analytics major and took a couple hard as shit stats and math classes. Got a B and a C, in 2 classes but then am now in finance and econ. I still have a 3.6 versus most kids I know who have been finance since since day 1 have a 3.8 or so. Will this significantly hurt me trying to recruit into IB as a SA next summer?
It won't be a disqualifying factor, but you'll have to network a lot harder. Solely based on GPA I don't think you'd pass any initial screens. Networking can change that.
3.6 will "pass screens" at my BB.
To OP, just target banks that recruit your school heavy.
Will a 3.6 really pass screens and be selected for an interview after alumni shift through 50 resumes with above a 3.8?
youre overestimating the number of competent kids with a 3.8, at least at my strong semi or weak target
was planning on networking pretty hard to begin with. I feel like that would be sufficient enough to show myself over the kid w/ the 3.8 who is a blind apply. Only concerned about how it affects getting the interviews, pretty confident from there shit like gpa (especially when it is close) doesn't play an enormous factor.
