IB Superday Waitlist Followup

Hey guys, I had a superday with a BB last week. I received the email from HR that they need to get through several more superdays before making the decision. Probably by the end of this week. I don't have exploding offers right now but any suggestions for handling waitlist? I have already sent thank you emails to the interviewers but should I follow up with them/alum to reiterate my interest? Appreciate any insight.

Here's a tool you could use, but first want to ask yourself would you take this offer if you got it? It has to be your top choice / last shot. I was passed this advice along from a few older friends who were into their 4th/5th/6th superdays for SA positions and had yet to secure offers.

They essentially emailed HR or whomever was in charge of relaying candidate information to the hiring team (hiring team being presumably your interviewers) a brief email thanking the opportunity to interview, deciding that after speaking to XYZ and getting a sense of XYZ about the firm, that this was their top choice, and they would be willing to sign on the spot if given the offer while withdrawing candidacy from all other processes effective immediately.

This does a couple of things. One, it gives you additional leverage at no extra cost by communicating your utmost interest to them. In fact, it should demonstrate to them how committed you are to their team/work/culture whatever. Second, it could definitely help in a waitlist situation where say its between you and another kid for the final spot. If you communicated such a level of interest they would factor that into their decision making, and it could be the differential.

But to reiterate, use sparingly and with caution.

Did the above and it worked for me. Got an advanced superday and offer out of it.

Make sure to only use it at one place though - especially, if you're dealing with alumni from your school. I had been networking with two alumni at two different banks and turns out they were roommates. If I had said to both of them that their respective banks were both #1 to me, that would not have gone over well.
