IB WORLD OVERVIEW MAP
Dear WSO community,
Please can you help me to provide me an "overview map" of the landscape for IB job opportunities? I am currently interviewing for Analyst I and Analyst II roles at top banks (1st from top uni and now transferring from a related career background - had an offer from a top shop already and also looking towards others).
Can anyone offer a succinct overview of the (London) banking world, from an opportunity & learning perspective, so I understand a) which are the best banks to work for and b) what is different about what the different "categories" of bank offer (in terms of pay, career development etc.) What shoud your thought process be when choosing?
Aware that this fourm is full of well-informed people who will be able to give a strong answer. I would hope for a response along the lines of:
"GS/JP/MS are the top BBs to work for as they will give you the best training and prestige... whilst Lazard/Evercore are top boutiques and will give you..."
Not saying the above quote is correct, but is just an example. To anyone who can help to simplify the landscape for me (so I know which banks to target and why), thanks in advance for your help! :)
