I recently received an interview opportunity with one of the big BBs and was wondering if anyone could give me a few pointers on what the BB's usually look for in an analyst candidate, or more in specific what I should do to prepare myself to become more qualified for the job? I graduated from engineering, and have been working in IT consulting for over a year as a pm. Currently studying for my CFA L1 exam in December but have never taken finance courses in school. I read financial news everyday and trade fantasy stock (I know, it probably sounds really stupid).

had an informational at Credit Suisse the other day. He said to me that he considered it his only chance to be in the industry. I told him he shouldn't think that way because when you step into the interview, you'll think that each word will carry a weight on whether you're going to get the offer. Relax, and then start going through the recruiting process. When you trade fantasy stock, I take it you follow the markets. Pitch a stock, any stock... Also, if you're interviewing for an analyst position, do you mean markets (sales/trading) or banking (corporate finance)?
