If I need a working visa, does that disqualify me from applying to Full-time IB at JPM London location?

I have Canadian work permit, not UK and I want to apply to 2018 FT IB in London, does that disqualify me immediately?
Generally, how does JP Morgan deal with applicants who arent UK or EU nationals? I've never applied to companies overseas so I don't know if requiring a working Visa is considered a disadvantage. It does make sense that a company will favor applicants who are legally able to work in the country, but generally speaking, does that become the sole reason for a candidate selection ? Also, I've researched this topic in Google but somehow it is well-covered.

It technically shouldn't, since they're supposed to look at candidates purely based on their academics/experience/personality. However, I will say that it is and will continue to be harder for non-UK applicants to secure roles given that companies/banks are being authorized less work permits - it's also becoming more expensive and so on.

No, you can still apply and if you fit the profile you'll get contacted no doubt. I'm non-UK myself and I'm also looking for FT positions (not IB though). However, I've heard 80%-90% of the FT spots are taken by their summer interns, so it's gonna be tough. Same goes for any other bank. It sucks, I know.

Do you anything about the timeline for Canadian-based applications? I remember I've been continuously checking since September 2016 and no applications were open for their Canadian offices. I have been trying to reach out to the recruiters by phone but I never receive any response (I've graduated university last year so on-campus recruiting is no longer an option for me).
