IF Statement Problem
I use IF statements for balance checks on my balance sheet: =IF(Asets - Liab. = OE, "OK","NO"). They all add up but for some cells, I'm getting the false value ("NO") even though A - L = OE (or A - L + OE = 0). What gives?

Can you send over the excel sheet?
Depending upon the original data source there could be small rounding errors involved. For example, sometimes with SNL or capiq a number value that you download into a spreadsheet will have a random value inserted several decimal points out, i.e. "1" becomes "1.000001". This screws with you if statement since it won't balance to zero. Easiest way to fix this is to use an absolute value formula nested in the if statement.
Thanks. Ill use abs value
Just use the round function. Round everything to dollars.
2nd this
Yeah , as has been said, this is a math error based on the actual data. It's normal and explains why the exact numbers are off ever so slightly. Just be careful with rounding as you may end up off by a small percentage depending on how the original data looks.
