Impact of Pass/Fail on Deferred MBA (COVID)

My school has had pass/fail since last March and this past spring was our last semester of it. I took advantage of this by adding up credit hours and P/F anything that had any chance of lowering my GPA. I never really thought about how it would impact MBA programs until now.

Will this put me at a disadvantage for deferred admissions? I know many business schools have said that they don't care about Spring 2020 P/F, but I've been doing it for multiple semesters now, so wondering how bad that looks.

For context, I think I have a strong profile otherwise to be competitive at the very least. GMAT is still the wildcard, but I'll be studying up.

I've been doing the same as you, 2 full semesters this year pass fail. Honestly IMO for the deferred programs it might look bad since they care more about grades (no work experience yet) but for regular admissions it won't be as bad because they'll care more about experience and won't look so detailed into transcripts.

Deferred maybe, but regular MBA admissions no. Look at their websites, where they state that students who had alternate grading policies at their universities will not be negatively impacted. Doesnt say for which specific semester, just during the covid-19 pandemic (only checked H/S/W tbh). Academics are obviously important for grad school, but MBAs care the least, outside of your overall GPA. Work experience has always been the most important. Thats why I believe deferred admissions might care, because you haven't started your FT career yet.

that makes sense. All the deferred programs that I've looked have that policy where they respect uni policies on P/F during COVID-19, but since there's no exact time frame, I was wondering if they'd dock me on that anyways. Do you know how they weigh work experience during college? I'm taking internships and part-time jobs.

don't know why people assume things won't change... there's been an exponential rise in the # of firms requiring transcripts (and looking at them) than before, and I'm sure MBA programs don't like kids who try to finagle their way through. of course it'll be detrimental
