LBS would be obvious choice here, strongest brand of the three if you want to recruit for both London and Frankfurt.
Thanks for your message. Alright! I am aware that LBS seems quite a great business school though I am a bit uncertain as the Masters in Financial Analysis is quite a "young" programme compared to Bocconi. You think just being in London gives an edge?
Yes, although it is a young programme, I think the MFA has managed to establish itself as a solid programme with strong placements (partly due to LBS being very well-respected). The only thing that I find slightly worrying about the MFA is that they doubled class sizes in a very short period of time.
The only case where I would consider Bocconi is if you were Italian.
I am German, so I would also prefer starting in Frankfurt at a top BB. Thus I was a bit unsure if I should go to London despite my Frankfurt preferences. However, I do prefer the UK one-year programmes over studying two years for my Masters.
Only thing I am a bit worried is that I could not do another Summer Analyst programme I if I'd studied in the UK as of the term dates but I guess in Frankfurt it would not matter that much as most BBs seem to have quarterly programmes.
Thanks for your advice!
Can you share your stats (GPA, work experience etc) ?
Talked to some Germen guys in class, it seems that there are not many junior positions at BB in Frankfurt. They tend to let people do summer internship in Frankfurt and then send them to London for FT. (Need to be confirmed but I guess u would have more info sources for that.) For 1 year program, the main concern as u mentioned is whether u will be eligible for summer internship at some BB. Should be fine for the top tier though. Bocconi's program is quite solid but if u are more interested in corporate finance/accounting, some of the compulsory courses (like econometrics/deriv/quant finance) can be tough while not that useful for IBD.
Thanks for the message!
Indeed, my main concern is that I will not be able to secure a great internship opportunity during / after my Masters. That's why I still think Bocconi seems appealing as I could apply again for Summer Analyst programmes. Though I was under the impression (after looking through some relevant profiles on Linkedn from BB Analyst in Frankfurt) that a lot of people just one or two internship after their Masters and then start full-time. So then I would prefer a one year programme. Not sure if you have observed the same trend. Anyways thank you very much again!
