Importance of school investment clubs in IB recruiting

Hello,

I am super stressed about this recruiting with these investment clubs at my school. The leaders of them regularly get offers at Evercore and I wonder if because they get them so often then I wouldn’t get First round interviews there. The other thing is these clubs are super selective and only take like 2-3 student per year with 20+ applicants. I am a transfer student so this is the first year I am even able to apply and these is not school recognized organization so there criteria is up to them completely to the students. It is also a 10-15+ hr commitment which I think would be better spent actually interning at a real firm.

There is another club that is also selective however, I think I may have a decent shot at actually getting in because it is overseen by the school and structured in away that technicals help. This doesn't seem to have to much of an impact on recruiting as they only invest in very safe securities.

I should also say I am starting my own club that is finance related and has a real impact that I am super passionate about and would be able to speak on for interviews, and I much rather spend my time doing that and a real PE internship during the semester, and possible the latter club then the former club at all.

Sorry about the essay, this is just stressing me and keeping me up at night.
