In-Person Interview Etiquette?

Hey Guys,

I just got an interview scheduled at a bottoms-up fundamentals-based fund in NYC. I fly out next week. The bulk of my finance recruiting process has been either via phone call or zoom, so I’m just asking for general advice on in-person finance interviews from those that have been successful in the past.

Interview questions I have: how early should I show up? 15 mins? 1 hr? Proper attire? Is it appropriate to take notes and ask questions during the interview? (I’ve been dinged by MDs at the final round of IB interviews for asking too many questions so I’m wondering if hedge funds are the same deal or if curiosity is encouraged).

Logistical Questions: Is Uber/Lyft/Taxi my best bet for leaving JFK? Any safe, affordable places to stay at that are near a subway where I can ride to Grand Central station within a 15-20 minute time frame? (still unclear whether the trip will be on my dime or theirs).

I really appreciate any insights you guys can provide. Thanks in advance
