Independent Sponsor / Fundless Model

I'm doing an MBA project on the rise of the independent sponsor model / fundless approach in PE. Unfortunately, finding raw statistics about firms that employ this has been difficult. Anyone familiar with Preqin, Pitchbook, Boomberg PE, etc. know if these might be resources for me?

Any help would be gladly appreciated.
