Index options trading

I'm about to interview with index option trading desk within a BBs equity derivative group -one of the major skillset they emphasized was coding skills, my wonderings are about how much codings are involved? Is the index option trading part of the algorithm trading business?

Just don't lie on your resume and say you know C++/Java when you don't. That will be an instant ding.

would u say index option trading is heavily algorithm based?

No, one of the few spaces where most of the flow is still on the floor, but a lot of people are starting to recognize the need to participate on the screens as volume gradually moves there.

Sounds like floor trading is being replaced by algorithm, if a trader uses the Eurex system to trade certain options, what is that supposed to mean?
