Insights on Brookfield Properties?
Hi all, about to accept an offer with them at the analyst level and was wondering if anyone could provide any insights on reputation / work culture? Not a whole lot of info about them on WSO. Thanks!

Behemoth. Meat grinder. Looks good on a resume.
Sad..we have people getting offers for firms that are in top tier and they don’t even know anything about them..
when did you interview and get the offer?
What group and office and asset class? Know a lot of people at Brookfield Asset Management, can shed some light on Properties if you give more details
I have a few friends there. Know them mainly from college/young professional social life. All nice guys. Can’t speak much to actual culture and work life there besides what I have heard from them / know about them. I hope this helps even just a bit. Best wishes and good luck :)
Can't speak to what it's like to work there, but their reputation is stellar. Top tier place. Coming from Brookfield, people will think you're about as good as can be for a junior (outside the beasts at Blackstone).
Depends on what kind of role. Brookfield Properties houses operations/leasing/etc teams under parent company Brookfield Asset Management (the PE / investment entity). If you're the parking attendant for one of their malls or the analyst working on leasing one of their podunk outlets, that's a different experience than being an acquisitions professional at BAM.
Yeah a lot of commenters don’t seem to understand there’s a difference between Brookfield properties and Brookfield Asset Management.
Obviously still a great job, but I imagine it’s similar to working at EQ Office versus Blackstone. Blackstone is much harder to get into / higher paying / more prestigious than working at the black stone operating partner / portfolio company

If you want to be in development Properties is obviously going to be the better role
In the MBS space, they are literally the #1 player
For Properties, not Asset Management? What's the role? I assume development if you're on here since AM hosts their acquisitions team.
Brookfield is arguably the biggest name in the business outside Blackstone.
Pay is strong and hours are long. A friend of mine there has been there for 6 or so years now and he still works a solid 6 days per week. Many late nights past 10 PM, but consistent nights ending at 9 PM plus a full Saturday. His pay is great though.
What's his role at BP, i'm guessing on the development team?
On a deal team.
Good for resume, professional but a grind I heard. This is for Properties in deal teams and Develoment. Source: talking to others who have worked there over recent years.
