Intermediate Eq Derivs Trader Struggling To Find A Job
Hi. I am looking for some advice. I have been working on Wall St for 8+ years. I started out in IDB as a broker in listed options, and after 4 years I made the jump to a prop desk trading listed equity options. It was a great experience, but I eventually left as the firm would not set me to trade my own book, even though my boss tried to push it through several times and was already letting me trade risk. I next went to a hedge fund to execute overnight, but it did not last as the platform only ran for half the Asian session, and it was not working for the fund or me. I have been looking for almost 6 months, but there are very few jobs, and next to none for people who aren't systematic/algo/coder types. I am way beyond junior level, but not a senior with a 2+ year track record that I can shop. Any advice as to how to get out of my intermediate purgatory is appreciated. Thanks
